I have Matt's book, and I think it's really well done.  I do have acrobatics training, but I use it as a guide to teach some of my students.  It comes with a DVD that steps through the moves.  The book explains how and why some of the moves are done the way they are.

Good for beginners too!

watch XMA videos on www.youtube.com. You can actually learn by watching them, especially since some of them show slow motion replays.
