Thanks..Sorry if it sounded like I was jumping down you throat on that one. One of my most favorite memories up to date was sitting on a judging board with UFC Shonie Carter and hearing how amazed he was at these kids doing the extreme forms and weapons. I spend many hours defending this program against "real" fighters. Mostly it is people who assume too much about it and never get any of the facts. XMA is a great thing for kids and young adults to break out of the every day training of traditional classes. So it was great to have a real fighter enjoy what these kids do.l
He happen to know the promoter of this particular tournament so he came in to do a little vending. When it came time that we needed judges he volunteered. He had a blast and was one of the most humble men I have met in a long time.
Well I was honored to become an acquaintance of his. He is a down to earth guy. That is what I discovered about some of the legends in the arts. They really are just basic human beings that have been been through the ringer a few more times than most. :)
