I really don't know where to start. I have always been in love with martial arts but I could never find the support and motivation. Along with the necessity of working to support a family. Now I am 38 nocking the doors of 39.  I do understand that i could never become THAT awesome martial artist but do I still have hope ?!! .  If I commit to myself now that I have the time.

I am 36 years old, and have been doing martial arts since I was 10.  I love it to death.  To answer your question, it is never to late.  Granted you will not be that spring chicken that will just jump in with no problems, but if you truely want to do it you can.  In our school we have several people your age and older that have started out and they are loving it.  My favorite story is one student that we had, until he moved, was in mid 50's, blind in one eye and missing 3 fingers on his right hand.  He got in it and was an excellent student.  SO GO FOR IT. :)

If you think you can't. Then you are right.

I'd say you have a chance, you might not be as good as you would have been a few years ago, but my instructor's 39 and he can do martial arts like he is 20.
